Workplace and Career Coaching that Complements Therapeutic Support

Practical workplace and career support designed to complement therapeutic work. Helping clients navigate employment, wellbeing and career decisions with confidence, clarity and compassion.

Many clients bring workplace concerns into therapy. Difficult managers, burnout, workplace conflict, sickness absence, career uncertainty, redundancy, and returning to work can all have a significant impact on wellbeing.

Having worked for over five years within NHS Talking Therapies, I have seen first-hand the growing demand for mental health support and the close relationship between work and psychological wellbeing.

Working alongside therapists and multidisciplinary teams, I recognised that many clients needed practical support alongside therapy. While therapy can help people understand, process and recover, clients are often left asking important questions about what to do next in relation to work, career decisions, workplace difficulties, and future direction.

This led me to create AlternativeWorks.

AlternativeWorks provides practical career and workplace support that complements therapeutic work. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and person-centred, helping clients navigate workplace challenges with greater confidence, clarity and direction.

Areas of Support:

I regularly support clients with:

  • Workplace stress and burnout

  • Job retention and workplace difficulties

  • Bullying, conflict, and toxic work environments

  • Sickness absence and return-to-work planning

  • Career change and career development

  • Interview preparation and confidence building

  • Workplace adjustments and Access to Work

  • Neurodiversity and employment

  • Redundancy and employment transitions

A Collaborative Approach:

My work is designed to complement, not replace, therapy.

Having worked closely alongside mental health professionals, I understand the importance of trust, professional boundaries, and providing support that aligns with a client's wider wellbeing goals.

I welcome opportunities to build relationships with therapists, counsellors, psychologists, private practices and wellbeing services who may benefit from having a trusted workplace and career support partner available to their clients.

How Referrals Work:

Every client is offered a free, no-obligation discovery call before any coaching sessions are arranged.

This provides an opportunity for us to discuss their situation, explore whether my support is the right fit, and ensure they feel comfortable moving forward.

Referrals can be made by:

  • Sharing my details directly with a client

  • Introducing a client by email (with consent)

  • Inviting the client to contact me directly

For referrals or enquiries, please contact:

info@thealternativeworks.com

I am also happy to arrange an informal conversation with individual practitioners, practice managers, or clinical leads who would like to learn more about the service and explore potential collaboration.

Let's Work Together:

I believe there is a growing need for practical workplace support alongside mental health services.

By combining my experience within NHS Talking Therapies with specialist career and workplace coaching, my aim is to help people not only recover, but move forward with confidence in their working lives.
